I used to use a regular whisk and tried a frother once. I just got it so I am not sure if it’s durability. Cleaning it is pretty easy as I just rinse it under running water. This is my first matcha whisk and I do like using this over a traditional baking whisk. This matcha whisk is a game changer, no more powder on the bottom! I was using just a regular whisk at first, but found it didn't mix the powder good enough and I would end up with a bunch of matcha on the bottom of my cup. I've noticed the curls at the end of the whisk are unravelling a little but it still does the job perfectly. Its my first one so I don't know the criteria for judging it as a whisk but it mixes my matcha very well and I get a good amount of froth by using the 'M' motion for mixing.
